The Surrey, a Corinthia Hotel, is set to open in 2024 as a reimagining of an iconic Upper East Side establishment. Originally built in 1926 as a residence hotel, The Surrey has a rich history of hosting many of New York's most notable celebrities, including JFK, Bette Davis, and Claudette Colbert. The hotel's mission is to restore its glamour and sophistication while becoming an icon of the future. The 16-story building will feature 70 guest rooms, 30 suites, and 14 residences. These accommodations will draw inspiration from the hotel's illustrious history and its surroundings. Renowned designer Martin Brudnizki will be responsible for the overall design of the hotel, ensuring a blend of modern luxury with a nod to its storied past. One of the highlights of The Surrey will be its four Signature suites, which will take inspiration from the bridges of Central Park, offering exceptional comfort and elegance. Guests can expect intelligently designed spaces filled with modern luxury and access to cultural experiences. Casa Tua, the well-known private members club curated by Miky Grendene and his wife Leticia Herrera-Grendene, will serve as The Surrey's dedicated food and beverage partner. This partnership will bring the Italian flair of Casa Tua to New York for the first time, adding to the hotel's appeal and contributing to Corinthia's expansion into North America.
